Luar (pronounced Lu-ar) Glow is a vegan cosmetic brand that focuses on the importance of healthy appearance and well-being when using holistic remedies that rejuvenates hair and skin. Through traveling, research/education, and experience with holistic remedies from different counties growing up, co-founder and owner, Ayanna Jacobs Kalyan has used some of the same ingredients in our products. The product includes Shea Butter as the base with essential and natural oils which produce nutrients and minerals needed to restore damaged skin cells and hair follicles. Specifically, our products are called a “Brûlée” another term for custard which is the same consistency as the product.

Luar Glow was created to introduce the United States, like other countries to more accessible vegan products for everyday use. Giving the community a product without chemicals and preservatives can create a healthier future for all. Our products are heavily influenced by the local’s skin in countries like South Africa, Jamaica, Honduras, Brazil, etc. In Brazil the word Luar means “Moonlight” in Portuguese and inspired the name of our vegan cosmetic line “Luar Glow.” The locals in these countries have a glow that you could see at night as the light from the moon touches their skin. Thus, besides the benefits, our product provides your skin and hair with a reminiscent moonlight glow.
